Profiles: Working with profiles step by step

This section is step-by step explanation of working with profiles in Image Converter Plus.

  1. Adding operations.
  2. Adjusting operation settings.

  6. Loading and saving profiles.

Step 1: Adding operations

To add operations, you must:

  • press Add operation
  • select the needed operation (e.g. Resize from the menu).

Note: Once you have added an operation, you may add other operations. Repeat the above steps to do it.

Step 2: Adjusting operation settings

Once you have added operations, you should adjust their settings.

Let’s adjust the settings of Resize operation. To do it, you should:

  • expand operation settings (press + to the right of Operation before save;)
  • enter values into Change image size boxes;
  • select units (pixels or percent) for the operation;
  • adjust other operation settings.

Note: As a rule, default operation settings provide best conversion results.

Step 3: Choosing formats

To choose a format, do the following:

  • select the needed format (e.g. TIFF) from dropdown list in the line Save images in … format.

To change format settings, do the following:

  • expand format settings (press + to the right of Save images in … format;)
  • make necessary changes to format settings.

Note: Default settings usually provide best conversion quality.

Step 4: Choosing destination path

You can choose destination path in two ways:

  • using menu which appears when you click ‘…’ button;
  • entering destination path manually.

The first way is useful for complicated directories.

The second way allows you to enter the directory manually (e.g. C:\)

Note: You can combine these two ways. For example, select {My Pictures} and add \converted to it.

Step 5: Choosing file name

Default file name consists of these macros: {Title}.{Type}

You can remove or add necessary elements. Use Add button located to the right of file name line.

Besides macros, you can enter permanent name parts manually. In this case the name will consist of the permanent part and specified macros.

Notes:

  • Before using macros, make sure to read their description.
  • Besides name selection, you can use the desired pattern of processing identical file names.

Step 6: Loading and saving profiles

Once you have created a profile, you should save it. To do it:

  • press Save button
  • enter a unique file name
  • press Save

Now your profile is available in the profile dropdown list of Image Converter Plus.

If you fail to see your profile or have moved it to another computer, you can load the profile with the help of Loadbutton.
