Crop images (photos)

Image Converter Plus provides its users with Crop functionality. We say that an image is cropped when a rectangular area is cut from an image or a photo. Image Crop allows you to remove those parts of the image you don’t find useful. Also, Crop allows you to copy fragments of your photos. Image Crop reduces the image (photo) size without scaling or distorting the image.

Image Converter Plus offers a professional set of Crop function settings.

Various Crop modes available in our program can handle all image cropping tasks.

Mode 1: margins

Here you specify left, top, right, bottom margins to be cropped off the source image. This mode is optimal for processing documents after you have scanned them, e.g. if you need to crop margins off scanned images or change size of raster images.

Mode 2: rectangle (2 points)

This is the second traditional image cropping mode. You specify the address (position data) of the top left corner of a rectangle (2 points) and bottom right corner of this rectangle. A sample task for this mode is copying a needed part of a photo.

Mode 3: rectangle (point, width and height)

This is one of traditional image cropping modes. The rectangle to be cropped is formed from the staring pont and width and height.

Let’s study a sample task of preparing an image for publishing on the Web. We must copy a fragment of the source image and then publish it on the Web as a graphics element of a web page.

Mode 4: margins autocrop

This is one of traditional image cropping modes. The rectangle to be cropped is formed from the staring pont and width and height.

Let’s study a sample task of preparing an image for publishing on the Web. We must copy a fragment of the source image and then publish it on the Web as a graphics element of a web page.

This mode is effective for images with unknown image or crop size. Autodetection of crop area is good for images with margins of uniform color. Its settings contain approximate fill color with admissable color error in percent. Let’s study the sample task of cropping unused margins off a scanned photo. A scanned image may often have unused margins of uniform color. To quickly remove them from the image, you may use margins autocrop mode. Margins autocrop mode is used to specify approximate color of uniform unused background and admissable color error in percent. You can preview the result of Crop function if you press Generate button. If cropping is performed with wrong margins you should correct color value for uniform fill or change the value of admissable color error in percent.Illustration

With Image Converter Plus you can combine several Crop modes to succeed with more complicated tasks. E.g. an image can be centered with the help of Margins mode combined with Rectangle mode.

Image Converter Plus allows you to save the sequence of needed actions as a profile. Use profiles to save your time when processing images.
